Avon Crave Lip Gloss Review

Avon Crave Lip Gloss Review

Hello, and welcome to my blog. I need to apologize right off with how I had announced that my first blog post would be March 4, 2019. Due to having two sick kiddos I was detained to mommy duty. Though one child is still sick I am able to write today. I will be writing up an About Me page later. So check the site for that and get to know me better. But to start off with one key note, I am an Independent Avon Representative. You can find my Facebook page here, my Tumblr here, my Twitter here, my Pinterest here, and my Instagram here. I have not yet decided what other platforms to be on. These are what I have so far.

So, I have a few items I thought about reviewing for you. There’s no point in bombarding a whole blog with several items. I decided to go with Avon’s new Crave Lipgloss. You may have heard about it somewhere. Or seen pictures on social media. They have been out for a few campaigns and I am now just deciding to write reviews. The lip gloss comes in 12 flavors/colors. I ordered 6. In no particular order I ordered: Honey Tea, French Toast, Cherry Creamsicle, Birthday Cake, Salted Caramel, and Chocolate Brownie.

In one simple paragraph I will say that my son liked the Honey Tea scented lip gloss. No he didn’t actually wear it. I just said it smelled great. I really liked the Salted Caramel and Birthday Cake. Each one has a well defined scent. Though Cherry Creamsicle I had trouble really smelling. Something is there. But the color is great. The color appearance may seem thick when you squeeze out a drop of the gloss but honestly it leaves a light coating that you can build with layers. In and out of the tube each gloss as a sparkle. Minus the chocolate Brownie. As for the flavoring, honestly I am not tasting anything. Those little strips of paper you use in high school science to learn about taste buds I was very sensitive to. Yet, after going over the products with my oldest, each had a slight mint tang to it. I can deal without flavor to be clear. The first thing I thought when I saw these in the What’s New book that Avon representatives get with each campaign order, was that it was the 80’s/90’s all over again when flavored lip gloss was EVERYWHERE. Kids were eating it and lip gloss isn’t meant for consumption in particular. Since Avon products are more-or-less geared to adults, I don’t think that will be an issue. In that it is the smell that you get most when it comes to these food related lip glosses by Avon. Now, one thing I’d like to point out is that what I didn’t like is that this lip gloss, which isn’t alone in how lip gloss can be, is that it is sticky by itself. There is a way to enjoy lip gloss that does this and not have to feel jilted out of your money. Makeup prep.

With all the makeup tutorials out there an Pins we save, you are bound to come across about makeup prep. Not just your face. But your eyes and lips. For lips, always start with exfoliating. Exfoliating is a must for just about everything beauty related. You can find lip scrubs or gently use a toothbrush on your lips. Then there’s primer. Avon also sells that. After exfoliating, prime the lips as you would your face. You don’t need a whole lot. It helps keep makeup in its place. Then use concealer. Again you don’t need a lot. After that you do your lips as you normally would: liner first then a matching lipstick. After all that you add lip gloss. Now, if it is still sticky, you can do one of two things: after it sets for a minute use an ice cube (just dab it don’t rub it all over) or use a clear setting powder. The setting powder is what I use most. A long time ago I used to use eyeshadow to add depth to the color since I didn’t have a huge selection of lipsticks. I have yet to try the ice cube trick. Be sure after you do all your makeup to use a setting spray. I noticed I was all out so that’s on my shopping list.
